The Permanent Working Group of NEFI
The Permanent Working Group (PWG) is the central working body of NEFI. It was founded in 1999 with the creation of the network. Every partner is represented by a specialist in SME financing.
The main task of the PWG is to coordinate NEFI´s activitis. This means
to exchange and forward information on the business activities of each partner,
to identify, prepare and implement concrete tasks,
to coordinate the contacts between NEFI members and other relevant institutions on the EU level,
to elaborate common positions on topics of mutual interest, which will be transmitted to interested parties,
to represent NEFI and its positions in external meetings, e.g. in expert meetings with the Commission,
to establish sub-working groups and arrange expert meetings to encourage the exchange of professional information.
The PWG is currently concentrating on the following topics:
- Promotion of microloans, especially for start-ups
- Innovation finance
- Transfer of businesses
- Internationalization of SMEs
- Securitisation of credit risks
- subordinated loans and mezzanine finance
- new EU Support Facility for SMEs for 2007-2013
